EverGreen Introduces ‘Open Concept’ Bay Hill

EverGreen Recreational Vehicles LLC has introduced the new Bay Hill 379FL fifth-wheel, offering an open concept floorplan with a spacious front lounge.
Instead of a front bedroom, the Bay Hill 379FL features a huge family room lounge with two 80-inch sofas situated in opposing slideout rooms. The two sofas, combined with two theater seats, provide comfortable seating for eight adults and a relaxing viewing area for an entertainment center with big screen TV and fireplace.
The two facing 80-inch sofas in the lounge area convert into a semi-private sleeping area for four adults when the sofas fold out into two queen-sized beds. The new Bay Hill features five slideouts to expand every living area for a true residential finish.
The open concept feel of EverGreen’s newest Bay Hill floorplan consists of a half wall of storage cabinets acting as a partition between the center kitchen area and the step-up lounge. This leaves the ceiling to the upstairs open with a greatroom effect to the kitchen below. The master bedroom in the very rear of the coach and the living area in the front provide privacy for guests.
The kitchen is designed with two facing slideouts opening up the dining and food preparation areas. The main focus of the kitchen is an island with an undermount stainless sink built into the Corian countertop. A breakfast nook slideout with fre-estanding table and four chairs is curbside. The opposite slide houses an optional 22-cubic-foot residential French double-door refrigerator with freezer beneath, a three burner range with oven and microwave and exhaust fan under is also standard-all stainless steel. A large pantry with a designer glass door features organized storage with shelves and drawers. On the forward wall of the kitchen, adjacent to the stairs, is an attractive hutch with Corian countertops, solid wood cabinets below and shelving lit with LED accent lighting.
The master bedroom in the rear of the Bay Hill has a more open feel because of the full-height radius ceilings. A standard queen bed or optional king bed in a slideout room creates full walk-around space around the bed. Overhead storage above the headboard also has LED-reading lights. Generous wardrobes, chests of drawers and a storage closet prepped for a washer and dryer combination complete the bedroom amenities. A private bedroom/bath entrance door in the hall to the bedroom adds convenience and gives the Bay Hill 379FL two entrances.
The bath of the new Bay Hill features a 48-inch residential, sit-down shower with sliding glass doors and a large skylight overhead. Linen closet storage with cabinets and shelving are handy. Full-sized residential commode and sink fixtures round out this true residential bath.
The EverGreen Bay Hill fifth-wheel line was introduced in late 2012 with the concept of providing consumers high-end fifth wheel value at a mid-range price point. Since that time the Bay Hill has won numerous awards including the RV Business Top Debut, Best of Show from PR Pro Magazine and a Dealer Satisfaction Index Award (DSI) for one of the highest quality products rated by dealers nationwide. The EverGreen Bay Hill family of products has grown to seven floorplans ranging from 29 to 38 feet.

Class B Motorhome Popularity Continues to Soar

By Darrin Michael, Dave Arbogast RV Depot

These days, finding the right RV for your next great adventure out on the open road can be quite the challenging task.

With so many important decisions to make, where does one even begin?
Thankfully, in the past few years one particular style of RV is quickly becoming a fan favorite among travel enthusiasts everywhere, while at the same time making life easier from a travel standpoint.

Say “hello” to the Class B motorhome…

How They Began…
The year was 1974 when Roadtrek founder Jac Hanemaayer began thinking about the possibility of creating a RV for personal. While Hanemaayer enjoyed the comfort and space offered by a Class A or C motorhome, he had no desire to become a bus driver on the weekend.

Haanemayer had always been upset he couldn’t find the comforts included with a larger motorhome contained within the compact size of a van. To remedy the problem, Haanemayer designed one himself and had it built by Fledgling Home & Park Vehicles. Impressed by his creation so much, Haanemayer would later purchase the company who built the van for him.
Similar to the look we’re all familiar with today, in 1980 Hannemayer completely redesigned his creation with a lower profile roof, lower floor and an innovative three-section floorplan. The layout is reminiscent of what we see today.

Tons of Brands Available

While most of you can likely pick a Class B motorhome out on the road when you see one, many are still getting to know these “van-esque” RVs, as well as all the luxurious features they come with.

The best part is these days,  the number of different types of Class B motorhomes available to RVers has grown significantly in the past five years. It’s not just limited to Haanemayer’s Roadtrek brand anymore. There are also great brands like Pleasure-Way and Leisure Travel Vans. Even more, some of the large manufacturers are starting to dabble in the Class B market. Now brands like the Airstream Interstate and Winnebago Era and Travato have become some of the body style’s top sellers.

But Why Have They Become So Popular?

There are a number of reasons as to why the popularity of Class B motorhomes continues to skyrocket. First and foremost, one of the main reasons is likely their size. Class B’s are small enough take any place a regular car or van can go.

The main attraction with Class B’s however might be that despite their compactness, they are still filled with some of the same luxurious features as their larger counterparts. They can have a bathroom and shower if you want it, a bedroom, a living area and more. Basically, the sky is the limit when it comes to what all a Class B can come with.

The Class B Traveler: A Unique Breed

It’s kind of interesting to be honest.

The Class B enthusiast is a unique breed. Any RV’er I’ve ever spoken with who has decided to make the switch from a Class B from one of its big brother Class A or C models has been pleased with their decision to do so.

Awhile back I interviewed an elderly couple who spends retirement traveling the country in an RV. They had recently sold their huge, Class A diesel motorhome and decided to go with a more modest Class B instead.

While the couple had some great stories from their travels before, their stories now are even more amazing as the smaller Class B now allowed them to visit a variety of new places.
They traded down.

And they never looked back.

Winnebago’s ‘WIT Rally’ to Attract 1,000 Rigs

About 1,000 recreational vehicles are expected for the 2014 Winnebago Itasca Travelers (WIT) Club’s Grand National Rally, which got underway today (July 16) and will run through Sunday at the rally grounds across from Winnebago Industries Inc.’s headquarters in Forest City, Iowa.
“We are tracking ahead of last year,” reported Chad Reece, Winnebago’s director of marketing.
According to a report by the Forest City Summit, Reece said those 1,000 expected units have about 2 1/2 to three people inside on average.
“That’s about 3,000 guests, plus the vendors that come, that’s about 3,500 to 3,600 visitors,” Reece said.
Reece said the GNR attendees participate in rally ground activities but also visit local and regional sites. Pre-rally tours take them to various sites such as the John Deere plant near the Quad Cities. The early arrivals and GNR rally day attendees also spend time and money in Forest City and North Iowa, he said.
