LIVIN LITE Recreational Vehicles, located in Wakarusa, IN,
reports that they are about to enter the 5th wheel market by introducing
the industry’s first ever model made entirely free of even a splinter of
wood. “We are excited to bring LIVIN
LITE’s unique construction techniques and ultra lightweight design into the 5th
wheel marketplace,” reports Scott Tuttle, President of LIVIN LITE. Based on a technologically advanced design,
LIVIN LITE is said to building their first ever fiver on an ultra-light steel
frame versus their traditional aluminum chassis that each of their other camper
lines ride on. “It’s true”, shares Tuttle,
“The all-new CAMPLITE 5th wheel line built of all aluminum and
composites, will be riding on a LITETECH frame that is hundreds of pounds
lighter than a traditionally built steel frame.” The LITETECH frame is also dipped in a
protective E-coating that effectively fights oxidation and eliminates the
possibility of oxidation spreading should the frame ever be scratched. “If we were going to do anything on steel, it
would have to be the most technologically advanced steel frame design on the
market and we have found just that,” said Tuttle, “The E-coating dip/bath is
expensive, but it is well worth the extra effort and cost as it will keep any
oxidation from spreading should the frame ever suffer a significant scratch.”
The first CAMPLITE 5th wheel model is approx. 30’
in length, featuring two slide-outs. A
second floorplan is available in a 26’ length, also with a slide-out, with both
featuring LIVIN LITE’s colorful painted aluminum exteriors with flowing
graphics, giving it the look and feel of a full body painted unit. Tuttle shares that the CAMPLITE line of
mid-profile 5th wheels is going to weigh in the 6,000 lb. range,
making it the lightest such 5th wheels on the market. “Our target audience is the half-ton pick-up
market, and not only have we designed a 5th wheel that they can tow,
we have designed a line of 5th wheels that half ton pickups can tow
comfortably while enjoying improved gas mileage – that’s a huge difference,”
states Tuttle.
LIVIN LITE’s display during Open House week will be on Executive
Parkway (the RV Hall of Fame Drive), situated just before the entrance to
THOR’s display.
