EverGreen RV Rolls Out New Element Floorplan


EverGreen Recreational Vehicles LLC has introduced the 28RLSS floorplan in its Element travel trailer line, offering lighter weight and spread axles for easier towing, and an affordable price point.
According to a press release, the 28RLSS model features EverGreen’s signature vacuum bonded components with a DuraLite double-welded aluminum structure. Smooth, low-drag fiberglass caps contribute to the aerodynamics for easy towing and improved fuel economy. The clean look continues at the front and rear of the coach with automotive grade painted caps and diamond shield stone guard for protection and easy maintenance.
Other features include:
• Spread axle design for improved stability and straighter tracking.
• Equa-flex suspension absorbs road shock and reduces chucking for smooth towing with less transfer of vibration. 
• Automotive grade aluminum wheels and upgraded radial tires with nitrogen increase tire mileage and speed ratings. 
• Full, low drag fiberglass front caps improve gas mileage and give the Element a true automotive feel. 
• Barreled, ducted, laminated roof for better water runoff and increased airflow through the coach.
The 28RLSS is equipped with two entry doors and dual sliderooms. At the rear of the living area is an upholstered wrap-around sofa with storage underneath while full-pull curtains offer a residential feel. The dinette is situated in the slide opposite the kitchen to provide added seating without taking up valuable living space.
The kitchen is set off by Martha Stewart edition Corian countertops and an island that houses a full-size composite sink. The fully equipped kitchen area includes a three-burner range and oven, microwave, power exhaust range hood and refrigerator with wood grain.
“We know our buyers are looking for the unit with the best quality, most storage, and high-end features all with the smallest price tag,” said Element Product Manager Jeff Terhune. “The Element 28RLSS model offers buyers all the amenities and storage of a larger travel trailer while still allowing them the flexibility of using a small tow vehicle.”
Bathroom amenities include a 48-inch fiberglass shower with a skylight, pocket doors for additional storage, cabinets above the toilet and a linen closet.

RV Trader Launches “RV Escapes” Instagram Photo Contest




RV Trader.com recently launched an Instagram photo contest, “RV Escapes,” that gives followers the opportunity to share photos and compete for a $150 gift card.

Instagram users may enter the contest by uploading a photo that clearly demonstrates the RV lifestyle while vacationing, camping or traveling.  Photos can include images that showcase their recent “escapes” to the outdoors, including kayaking, mountain biking, spending time with family, sightseeing and more. The photo must include the hashtags #RVEscapes and #RVTrader in the image description to be considered a valid entry.  

The “RV Escapes” promotion will run from August 1-31.  The contest winner will be determined by a random drawing of all valid entries at the conclusion of the contest period on August 31.

Cruise Inn Forging Partnership With ‘Expedia’


Cruise Inn, a newly launched national brand of RV parks and campgrounds with a member-based network of owners, announced a partnership with online travel agency Expedia Inc. in a deal the company says will significantly expand its national reach in the outdoor sector.
“We’re the first brand in the outdoor hospitality space to forge a partnership with the Expedia family of brands, and it’s going to fundamentally change the RV industry,” Cruise Inn CEO Scott Anderson told RVBUSINESS.com. “It’s going to expose the outdoor hospitality arena to a whole new set of customers who have never even considered a park model or renting an RV or a tent – or any of these types of camping experiences – as an alternative to traditional accommodations.”
Cruise Inn executives founded the company in late 2013, but with more than 125 years of combined hospitality experience, they came out of the gate saying their long-term goal was to “elevate the entire industry.” According to Anderson, the partnership with Expedia confirms the company’s commitment.
“We are very serious about our goals,” Anderson said. “This partnership is part of our strategic plan, and frankly, we aren’t done yet.”
Cruise Inn (www.cruiseinns.com) is modeling its plan after the hotel industry, specifically the member networks of Lexington and Americas Best Value Inns developed by Vantage Hospitality Group Inc. – a Cruise Inn corporate backer – which has grown to 1,100 hotels worldwide. The Cruise Inn vision is to grow into a member network of at least that size or larger.
For their part, Expedia (www.expedia.com) representatives say they are confident in their new partner’s ability to deliver on that vision.
“We think, in Cruise Inn, we’ve found a really good partner,” said Drew Bowering, director of key accounts at Expedia. “They represent the ideal business model and we’re confident that the end result will be one that’s going to benefit the customer.”
The partnership represents Expedia’s first serious public foray into the outdoor hospitality arena, and Bowering said the company’s leadership is enthusiastic about that prospect as well.
“We truly are excited about the partnership and the new relationship that we’ve set up with Scott and everyone at Cruise Inn,” he said. “We have no current product carve-out for outdoor hospitality in our shopping experience and all eyeballs are on this internally now.”
Initially founded as a division of Microsoft in 1996, Expedia was a pioneer in the online travel industry but has grown to become a global powerhouse with 150 travel booking websites in over 70 countries, 60 million unique visitors to its family of websites each month, and $4.8 billion in revenue in 2013.
“We are constantly trying to innovate and offer unique travel experiences,” said Melissa Maher, senior vice president of Global Partner Group at Expedia. “We’re thrilled that this partnership allows us to expand our offerings into the outdoor hospitality space.”
The new corporate partners believe that this move will benefit owners of Cruise Inn branded facilities, as well as all outdoor hospitality enthusiasts.
“Our owner members are extremely excited,” Anderson said. “This is another big way for us to bring them customers that they wouldn’t be able to get on their own. And from the consumer side, they previously had very limited options when it came to booking an entire camping vacation online. That’s about to change.”
Anderson said that it will likely be two weeks before Cruise Inn parks begin showing up on Expedia, and he expects more nuts and bolts details to emerge then as well.

Midwest RV Super Show Kicking Off Thursday


The 59th Annual Midwest RV Super Show kicks off Thursday (Aug. 7) at the RV/MH Hall of Fame Museum in Elkhart, Ind., and runs through Sunday.
The Goshen News reported that the show is one of the largest recreational vehicle shows in the country and will give prospective buyers the chance to see new 2015 models and get some of the best prices, according to Matt Rose, director of Recreation Vehicles for the Indiana Manufactured Home Association — Recreation Vehicle Industry Council (IMHA-RVIC).
“If the shows that we’ve done this year are any indication, this show should be bigger than last year,” he said. “We could see as many as 4,500 people over the four-day show.
The show will be just a few miles from the many recreational vehicle plants in Elkhart County where the units on display were manufactured.
“Prices don’t get any better than at this show,” Rose said. “Buy it where it’s built and save. That’s one of the reasons that people drive in from so far.”
Rose said that last year officials counted license plates from 38 different states, an indication of the popularity of the show, as well as the deals that are to be had.
“Some of the units that people will see have come directly off the manufacturer line to the show, so they haven’t even seen a dealer lot,” Rose said.
